Palm Aire Birding 2020

During the 2020 pandemic lock down Palm Aire had lots of winged visitors. Starting in April 2020 and into the summer months local wildlife photographers Jeff Shulman and Ron & Claudia Lauter captured the beautiful birds documented in the “2020 Birding Pictures.jpg” above.  All of the birds were photographed along the walking trail behind buildings 44 & 45. They include:

      • Cedar Waxwings
      • Black & White Warbler
      • Mexican Red Head Parrot
      • Red Face Conure
      • Black-throat Blue Warbler
      • Northern Parula
      • Cape May Warbler
      • Downy Woodpecker
      • Red Bellied Woodpecker
      • European Starling
      • Blackpoll Warbler

Jeff, Ron & Claudia were on location most mornings and evenings with their cameras and tripods ready to capture the winged visitors. During the early days of the lock down many residents hit the trails for fresh air and exercise. They got a bonus when they discovered the exotic birds that pass through our community. Jeff always had enlarged photos of the birds with him and was willing to share pictures and stories with the inquiring residents.

It has been one year this month since I met my birding friends. When outside I am constantly looking up into the trees and listening for unusual bird songs. I have already spotted some Mexican Red Head Parrots, Red Start Warblers and couple Pileated Woodpeckers.

The PAU Friends of the Lakes, Trails and Green Spaces in Palm Aire are forming a Birding Watching group. If you are interested in joining the group, please send me an email darlene@phaseonecomputing.com or give me a call 954-444-7953.

I hope you discover a beautiful winged visitor today.
